Chaka Khan.....................Chaka Khan is one of the most popular and richest R&B Singer who was born on March 23 1953 in Chicago Illinois United States. R&B Singer whose I Feel for You version by Prince is a huge smash. I Feel for You, the hit song by Rufus' frontwoman is widely acknowledged as a hit. Rufus is her other band. Khan was Catholic. She was educated at Hyde Park Saint Thomas the Apostle Church's elementary school. Her mother is the reason she was getting her into jazz while she was young. Khan started listening to rhythm and blues as early as in her teens. At the age of 11, Khan joined a band together with Taka, which is also Khan's sister. The late 1960s saw the formation of the Crystalettes. Khan attended several protests for civil rights along with her father's second wife Connie who was a staunch advocate of the cause. Khan became a member of the Black Panther Party after befriending a fellow member activist and Chicago born Fred Hampton in 1967. While many have assumed that Chaka was her given name when she joined the Panthers. Khan clarified she was the Yoruba Baba had given her the first name she was given, Chaka Adunne Aduffe. She quit the Panthers in 1969, and left high school, after having attended Calumet High School, and Kenwood High School. (Now Kenwood Academy). She began to perform in small groups around the Chicago region, first with Cash McCall's group Lyfe which included her then-boyfriend Hassan Khan. Chaka married Hassan in 1970.
